SNAP! Productions is proud to announce the cast and creative team for the Omaha premiere of “Cock” written by Mike Bartlett and directed by Joshua J. Mullady. Ronnie Wells is the producer. The cast features Joseph Schoborg (SNAP! Debut), Eric Grant-Leanna (“In the Bones”), Caitlin Staebell (SNAP! Debut), and Brent Spencer(“Tribes”). “Cock” begins public performances Friday, March 4, 2016 and runs at their theater located at 3225 California Street in Omaha, NE through March 27, 2016.
The official press opening is scheduled March 3, 2016 during the special Theater Arts Guild fundraising performance.
Olivier Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett’s (“King Charles III”, “Bull”, “Earthquakes In London”) punch-drunk comedy, “Cock”, dissects one man’s emotional indecision in our commitment-phobic age with razor-sharp humor.
John is dissatisfied with his relationship and wants out. Or maybe he just wants a timeout? Or a break from his needy boyfriend for a few weeks? Or maybe months? Actually, the whole problem is John doesn’t know what he wants. But while he’s thinking things through, he meets a girl, and is faced with a whole new world of possibilities and complications.
His boyfriend is ready to forgive and forget, but John is haunted by the passionate and unshakable encounter he had two weeks earlier. In a world with so many ways to be happy, how do you know the right thing when you have it?
Three lovers combat in a cockfight to stake a claim on each other’s hearts in this cheekily titled contemporary comedy of manners. This taut witty take on modern romance detonates the love triangle in an investigation of attraction, ambivalence, and commitment. Cock takes a lively, candid look at one man’s sexuality and the difficulties that arise when you realize you have a choice.
The creative team for the production is Joshua Mullady, Director & Lighting Designer; Ronnie Wells, Scenic Designer; Lora L. Kaup, Costume Designer; and Brad A. Watkins, Sound Designer. Kelsey Ribordy is the Assistant Director and Brian Callaghan is the Stage Manager.
Tickets go on sale December 28, 2015 and cost $15.00 for adults or $12.00 for Students, Seniors (55+), TAG Members or Military. There is special $10.00 “Throwback” pricing on Thursday night performances for all seats. Students get free rush tickets on the day of performances.
