A message from the Development Director
Summer 2007
Dear Friends and Supporters of SNAP! Productions!
This year marks the fifteen anniversary of our theater, which has provided you with many great moments in Omaha theater, producing plays that would never have been mounted in Omaha by any other theater company. The TAG-award winning “Falsettos” at the Witherspoon Auditorium at the Joslyn will always be my favorite production. Great story and music, exceptional performances, outstanding direction, and an audience moved to laughter and tears. You no doubt have your own favorite SNAP! production.
This year promises to be another blockbuster year for SNAP! Faithful to our mission, we will be presenting the Tony award-winning “I Am My Own Wife” as well as the much-heralded “Angels In America” (both Part I and Part II). SNAP! will also raise the curtain on the Midwest Regional premiere of the world turned inside out musical “Zanna Don’t” and we are in the process of securing the rights to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony award-winning play “Doubt.” On a lighter note, Christmas season we are bringing back “Christmas with the Crawfords,” which brought hardy guffaws and belly laughs to the always-sold-out theater for this outrageous comedy. Reserve those tickets early!
SNAP! Productions continues to be able provide you with cutting-edge, riveting, entertaining theater because of your on-going support. Again this year, several other local theater groups dropped their curtains and the stage light went out for good. While we are in relatively stable financial condition, only your continued generous support will allow our theater to continue to bring these productions to you and make a difference in our community.
As an added incentive, those friends and supporters contributing $100 or more during this fund-raising effort will receive two complementary tickets for a special champagne reception honoring Miss Joan Crawford later this year. Photo ops will be available with the Grande Dame. Date and details of this event hosted by SNAP! Board President Liz Heim and myself will be forthcoming once Miss Crawford is out of detention after those ugly and unfounded child endangerment allegations!
SNAP! is proud of our past and looks forward to our future. In addition to bringing you new productions, we are planning encore presentations of some of our most popular productions from the past 15 years. This series is called “SNAP! Back.” It will allow anew generation of theater goes to experience the best of SNAP! and also provide our veteran audience a chance to experience the best productions once again.
Lastly, our SNAP! family lost two esteemed colleagues in the past several years to HIV/AIDS which makes us acutely aware that the AIDS crisis is not over, despite lack of governmental and media attention, and we will continue to address AIDS-awareness at appropriate times consistent with our founding mission.
On behalf of the SNAP! Productions Board of Directors, thank you for your support! Please use the enclosed Donor Form and place in the enclosed pre-addressed envelope, or you may donate online on the SNAP! website www.snapproductions.com. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Dr Joe Hoagbin
