"If your parents knew everything about you before you were born, would you be here?"
SNAP! is very excited to present TWILIGHT OF THE GOLDS which ran on Broadway in 1993 and was made into a film for ShowTime in 1998. Dealing with the difficult questions is something the Gold's are experts at avoiding. All is well until Suzanne Gold discovers that she is pregnant and submits to prenatal tests at the request of her geneticist husband. The results reveal that the child, in all likelihood will be physically perfect, intelligent and gay. Suzanne's brother, also gay, fight for the rights of the child as the news forces the entire Gold family to confront the issues of evolution, bigotry and the limits of love.

Opera plays a very important role in the dramatic structure of the play. The title itself is a play on words of TWILIGHT OF THE GODS, the fourth opera (Gotterdamerung) in Wagner's RING CYCLE or DER RING DAS NIBELUNGEN.  The author skillfully weaves the mythological themes of THE RING into this almost futuristic plot.

Skilled also are the actors who will bring the play to life -- Kay Vivian, Sue Mullin, Christopher Darst, Matt Thompsen and David Catalan (former president and founder of SNAP!) M. Michele Phillips directs this evocative drama and lights are being designed by Ernie J. Gubbels, props by Rhonda Hall and sound by Laura England.
